The Working Group on target classification (WGTC) focuses on the acoustic systems currently used in fisheries research and surveys. It develops recommendations protocols for target classification during ecosystem surveys, including (1) acoustic systems commonly used in fisheries research and surveys and (2) the principles of classification general and specific to these selected systems.
