​It is important for ICES to show best practices in the applicability of research results in planning/management processes.​​

With rising management of human activities, reasoning should touch upon the goal of ecosystem based management of human maritime activities and may also point to the sources of this type of management, such as the 2002 Sustainable Ocean Summit and the UN 2030 Agenda.
