COVID-19 outbreak effects on ICES work

Important information about the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on ICES work.
Published: 11 June 2021

The health and safety of our staff and community are our primary concern. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, ICES Bureau has agreed to an extension of the precautionary measures. This means that expert groups will continue to operate through online meetings until 31 October 2021.

This decision will be evaluated in late August and adjusted if the situation of the pandemic, quarantine rules, and travel restrictions has changed substantially.

We recognize that the network is being challenged and that a further postponement of returning to physical meetings increases the pressure. We thank everyone for their patience, understanding and commitment to our work during these unusual times. We will continue to send updates as they become available.

If you are in doubt about your meeting, meeting dates or have any other questions or concerns related to this, please contact ICES Secretariat via
