Nominate an early career scientist to speak at ASC 2024

The call for nominations for an early career scientist keynote speaker at ICES Annual Science Conference (ASC) 2024 is open.

​​​​​ICES Strategic Initiative on Integration of Early Career Scientists (SIIECS) is seeking nominations for an early career scientist (ECS) keynote speaker for next year's Annual Science Conference. ASC 2024 takes place 9-12 September in Gateshead, UK.

This is an exceptional opportunity for ECSs to present their research, build their career, and engage with ICES community. 

This year's edition of this SIIECS initiative brought us a captivating keynote by Mar​ine Cusa, Policy Advisor, Oceana. In her own words: Giving a keynote at the ​​​​ASC was not only an exciting and incredible opportunity as an early career scientist, but it was also a fantastic way to network and initiate collaborations with fellow researchers".

How to nominate

SIIECS is looking for nominations for accomplished early career scientists who can deliver an engaging keynote speech.​

Nominations are submitted via an online form. Deadline: 8 December 2023.

The selected candidate will be contacted within one month after the nomination period and is expected to confirm their availability within one week.
