Early Career Scientists soon on their way to quinquennial conference

In less than two weeks the 3rd ICES/PICES Early Career Scientist Conference will kick off in Busan, Korea, to embrace and promote the contribution of the young generation of scientists to the management and stewardship of the marine environment.
Published: 17 May 2017

Under the theme 'Climate, Oceans and Society: Challenges and Opportunities', and over the course of four days, the event will address the interactions among the natural processes of the ocean and human activities affecting, and affected by, marine ecosystems, including sustainability of marine resource management.

Over 100 early career scientists will contribute with oral or poster presentations on themes such as climate effects on physical, chemical and biological processes, anthropogenic effects on the marine environment, and patterns and processes in marine ecosystems.  The conference also provides a unique and exciting opportunity to build up solid networks among young and senior scientists by promoting their involvement in international scientific research.
